Qargi.com was created by the hard work of many people who care about our future. It is a place to practice and perpetuate the values, morals and lifestyle our ancestors passed down to us so that, we in turn, can pass it on to our future generations. As such, this space has some specific rules. If you do not follow the rules you will be banned as a user.
The principles that inform this site:
- Open learning through self-discovery
- Respecting and honoring differing opinions and different ways of doing things
- Sharing information
- Understanding by exploration and experience
- Interacting and encouraging interaction with an Iñupiaq spirit
The Rules:
Respect each other and the vast and rich Iñupiaq knowledge that is being shared.
Respect our ancestors. Do not censor aspects of our shared history. If there are areas you might not want to be exposed to, make it known without preaching.
No preaching. If you want to preach, find another space. www.qargi.com is for sharing and learning not preaching or judging.
Be considerate of others who are learning. There is a difference between strictness and meanness. Do not cut down other learners in the attempt to teach them the ‘right way.’ We have all survived a history of assimilation, and it is painful for all of us. We do not need to perpetuate that pain by cutting down those who are learning and might make a mistake. Be gentle with each other.
Do not threaten people. This includes threats of violence both physical and verbal.
Do not post others' personal contact information.
We were taught to have love and respect for one another. Slurs or hate speech, including degrading comments involving race, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, age, whether they be personal or general, besides being very uncool, are not allowed.
Do not promote self-harm. Do not post content that glorifies self-harm. Do not encourage others to harm themselves. Qargi.com is a safe space to support recovery.
We were taught to be respectful of others’ property. Do not abuse other people’s copyrights and trademarks. Do not post content that belongs to third parties without their consent. Please make sure you have the right to post the content that you put on qargi.com. In other words, only post content that you own or have permission to post.
Be legal. Only post content that is legal. Do not post content that violates a law, rule or regulation.
Be yourself. Please don’t pretend to be someone else.
We were taught to nurture our young. Do not hurt young people. Do not post anything inappropriate about minors, including things that are violent or sexual in nature.
Do not use qargi.com to intrude on other people’s privacy.
Qargi.com’s rules do not allow you to post abusive content of any kind.
If you break the rules we may contact you and ask you to fix the problem immediately. If you don’t, your account may be suspended or deleted, your username forfeited, and your IP address may be permanently banned from logging into qargi.com. We reserve the right to enforce or not to enforce these rules in whatever way we see fit, at our sole discretion.
Qargi.com’s rules and policies do not create a duty or contractual obligation for us to act in any particular manner. We reserve the right to change these rules at any time.
If you notice abusive behavior, please report it immediately. We will look into it and take necessary action as soon as possible.
